Meet John Westwood:
Hi all, my name is John and I would love to invite you all the learn the basics in millinery with me.
To give you a bit of background about who I am and how I got into this area of fashion... I have always been a creative and after trying my hand at lots of different creative skills, with nothing sticking, I finally found millinery.
Due to redundancy when I was due to get married, I decided to make as much as I could for the wedding to cut costs. This included making the headpieces for the mothers and bridesmaids. From this day on I was hooked on millinery.
After graduating with a distinction from Leeds College of Art under the tutorship of Sharon Bainbridge, I made bespoke pieces for personal customers until moving to London.
Now based in SE London, I've been working to infuse fashion with technology by using a 3D printer to see what this can offer to the millinery world.
My upcoming AW16 collection uses 3D printing to bring this new age of technology to the forefront of fashion.
