“What do you want to be when you grow up? I don’t mind as long as I am happy.” Does this sound familiar? If you are being honest with yourself, are you actually happy?

We all striving for happiness but we are in the middle of a mental health epidemic. Each year more people are medicated for depression, suicide rates are on the increase and standards of wellbeing are decreasing. If we are all trying to be happy, what is going wrong? We have got everything we wanted, but we feel more deprived than ever.

We live in an on demand society. We want everything right away, this includes our emotions. When we are feeling down we can rapidly change our emotions through; drink, social media, food, and a range of other vices and services available at the click of a button. What happens is that after the “happy” experience we drop even lower than we were before, thus the cycle continues. This can create a very unstable way of living.

The self-development would have you believe that you have to feel awesome all day long and be super excited about everything. Some people say it is all about mind set and asking the universe to serve you. This just isn’t practical or realistic. Instead we have to investigate what creates and maintains long term happiness in people.

This talk has nothing to do with spirituality, mind set, energy or the Law of Attraction. This is all solid practical advice attained from working with thousands of clients in private practice.
