Human dads are special.
In fact, human fathers are one of only 5% of mammals, and the only ape, who stick around and invest in their offspring. And to help them along evolution has seen fit to alter their brains, their hormones, their personality, their very identity.
In this groundbreaking talk Evolutionary Anthropologist, Dr. Anna Machin explains the myriad of changes which men go through when they become dads, how their role, and the biology which underpins it, is different to that of mum and how they uniquely contribute to their children’s development. Based on a decade of research in fatherhood genetics, neuroscience and psychology and written to accompany her new book, The Life of Dad, join Anna to explore the wonders of fatherhood.
