Meditation for Healing
A two-hour meditative journey where we will be harnessing the power of mindfulness meditation and gong sound meditation to bring about emotional and physical healing.
Mindfulness and gong meditation are time-old proven methods which inhibit the stress response and allow the body to heal naturally.
Mindfulness meditation switches on the parasympathetic nervous system, putting the body into the resting, repairing and healing mode.
The sound of the gong is not only heard, but absorbed through the body and into our very cells. These vibrations stimulate the cells towards health and vitality. The gong also induces a spontaneous meditative state in the mind by lowering brain wave frequencies, which takes us from Beta, our waking state and the incessant chattering mind, to Theta, a calmer, dream like state, where the natural ability of the body to heal itself, is activated.
We will be meeting in a private, spacious room overlooking Ealing Common and afterwards we will be hosting a social gathering downstairs in the pub/diner to forge relationships and grow as a community.

• WHAT TO BRING?
For our session you will be invited to make yourself comfortable. The majority of people choose to lie down. For your comfort, we have a limited amount of yoga mats, cushions, blankets and eye pillows, but please feel free to bring your own as these will be given out on a first come, first served basis. You might like to wear loose clothing and bring a bottle of water or anything else that will make you feel totally comfortable.
• DIRECTIONS TO THE VENUE:
The Grange is a short walk from Ealing Common station for the Piccadilly and District lines and within easy access to Ealing Broadway for the Central Line and National Rail. You can also use the following buses: 207, 407, 607. The E11 stops just outside the pub.
Free on-street parking is available. The stretch of Warwick Road opposite the Common is free for up to three hours at any time.
Please arrive early to reserve your space and make yourself comfortable. Please be aware that as we will be meditating, it will disturb others if you arrive late. We recommend arriving 10 mins early for the session.
• YOUR TEACHERS:
Kulbir has trained under Jill Purce, a renowned voice teacher who pioneered the international sound healing movement; Michael Ormiston, the UK's most experienced Mongolian Khöömii (Overtone) singer and therapeutic sound practitioner and more recently, Sheila Whittaker, a classical musician, sound healer & gongmaster with over forty years experience of teaching music. Her passion lies in sound healing.
Dawn originally trained in Mindfulness in ashrams in India. In London, she trained formally in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy with the world-renowned Mindfulness teacher and author, Dr. Patrizia Collard. She is also an accredited trainer for the Mindfulness in Schools Project. Dawn has been practising mindfulness for over a decade and is passionate about passing this ancient knowledge onto others in an authentic way, helping them to attain peace and well-being.

WHAT IS GONG MEDITATION?
The gong is a powerful and therapeutic instrument and has been used for ritual, ceremony, prayer and meditation for thousands of year.
Gong baths are extremely relaxing. The sound of the gong is not only heard but absorbed through the body as gentle vibration and reverberation; both calming and soothing. It cuts through our mental chatter and leads the listener to experience rich feelings of other worldliness, timelessness, expanded awareness and total mind-body harmony.
WHAT IS MINDFULNESS?
Mindfulness is an aspect of a number of ancient spiritual traditions. Most notably, it is associated with Buddhism and has been used for approximately 2,500 years as a means to alleviate human suffering, alleviate stress and bring on a sense of joy and well-being. In the West it is now taught without any reference to religion and is backed-up by extensive scientific research
- 20 minute Mindfulness of Body and Breath meditation for healing.
- 30 minute Mindfulness Body Scan which will enable you to
reinvigorate mind-body connections and cleanse the body with breath
- 45 minute Gong Bath to help you enter Theta and heal emotionally and physically. You will leave feeling totally energised and transformed!
