This Funzing Experience:

This belly dance course is designed for beginners who want to experience the magic of this ancient dance form. The course will cover basic belly dance movements, techniques, and combinations, as well as the history and culture of belly dance. You will learn how to feel each of your body parts, build strength and flexibility, and develop your own unique style.

 

The course is designed to be fun,supportive and empowering, and will help you to discover your inner goddess and unlock your feminine potential through the art of belly dance.

 

This course will be lead by Carmen Gherase, who will guide you through each step of the way and will provide you with personal feedback and support.

Please wear light clothes, a scarf around your waist or a belly dance skirt, and make sure to have with you a bottle of water and lots of enthusiasm!

 

Carmen has been facilitating groups for women for more than 11 years, being very active in teaching since a young age. She has been organizing workshops in London at Venus, she is a part of the Women of Spirituality project and is currently an International Tantra for Women teacher. Her passions include photography, graphic design, belly dance and sensual dance. She is a passionate and enthusiastic presence, triggering motivation and confidence in other women; her values and advice are based on authenticity, personal example and a very relatable, friendly and interactive approach.

Experience includes:

During the course we will cover:

  • introduction to Belly dance basics, posture and attitude
  • practice of the popular shimmy movement
  • we will practice movements will all the body parts
  • we will learn basic steps, figure 8's, upper body gestures, arabesques, hip isolation, mayas, pelvic circles, undulations, belly dance walk, and many more techniques
  • each session begins with a light warm up and ends with a guided relaxation
