Meet Yasmin:
I have always been fascinated in why different cultures decorate their walls and floors in different ways...
As an Anthropologist my fieldwork has provided a wonderful opportunity to explore these cross cultural patterns, colours and shapes, which I would love to share with you.
I am the founder and curator of the 'Talking Streets', an intangible cultural heritage community project based in India and the UK. I have worked as an educator and curatorial assistant in various museums including the Indian and education department at the Victoria & Albert Museum and Cambridge Museum of Anthropology and Archaeology (MAA).
I teach a range of Social Anthropology modules at various academic institutions including Birkbeck, London University and the University of Arts. I am currently based at City Lit and Goldsmiths University, where I deliver Introductory courses on the Anthropology of Art, Anthropology and Photography and Anthropology of Space, Place and the Landscape.
