Meet George:
My name is George Tudor -Hart and my main hobby is ballroom dancing. I have run dance classes in South London for the past ten years (though I am not a dance teacher), mainly so I have somewhere near my house to go to improve my own dancing. Surprisingly, my classes are successful, in as much as we have about seventy students and I don't lose any money.
Similarly I have produced the Black Tie Ballroom Club once a month for the past three years, so I have somewhere in London W1 where I and other guests wear formal dress and can dance to a live orchestra and 1930s dance band records.
In my ideal world someone else would arrange all this for me , so I can just go there and enjoy it, without any of the worries- but this hasn't happened yet. So I try to arrange things so I don't worry, by keeping costs down, so even if it's a disaster with ticket sales, (which it rarely is, strangely enough), I don't lose too much money. A by product of this is that the tickets are cheap to buy for my fellow dance enthusiasts, at only £10 for early bird tickets. £15 for regular or £20 on the door.-for those awful people who leave everything until the last minute- with no thought for others
But don't put going to it off. I may grow tired of it, or perchance die, and then it will no longer be available, and you will have lost the opportunity to experience and enjoy it.
