Dr Suraj Lakhani is a lecturer at the University of Sussex, and also holds the role of Director of the Sussex Terrorism and Extremism Research Network. Over the past 10 years, working in the field for various think tanks and university institutes, Suraj has researched topics including radicalisation, counter-terrorism policy, online extremism, and the crime-terror nexus. During his doctoral thesis, Suraj interviewed a large number of former violent extremists to better understand their motivations.
