Meet David Holmes:
Dr David Holmes has taught Psychology for over 30 years at Manchester Metropolitan University and has authored textbooks on Abnormal Psychology. He has recently published a larger text ‘Abnormal, Clinical & Forensic Psychology’ (Pearson). In his spare time he is also a musician and songwriter touring with various bands with famous members and releasing singles. David also worked at The Hacienda in Manchester and was given the job of looking after guests as varied as Madonna, William Burroughs, Divine and Pat Phoenix, whilst working alongside luminaries of the Manchester scene including Tony Wilson, The Smiths and New Order.
David’s areas of expertise lie in the areas of Forensic Psychology and Clinical Psychology with specific interest in the motivations of offenders, autism, psychopathy and stalking. He established and was Director of the Forensic Research Group at MMU under which umbrella he has produced many successful forensic conferences and has published extensively in the area. David has also spoken and judged at Industry, Brands and Entrepreneurial awards ceremonies as well as being a forensic consultant on TV programmes such as ‘Casualty’ (BBC1) and even box office movies. During the last 20 years, David has been featured in thousands of TV and Radio broadcasts including National & International News as well as hundreds of Crime Documentaries such as ‘IF’ (BBC), ‘Murder by the Sea’ (CBS) and ‘Born to Kill?’ (Sky).
