Meet Lauren Ware:
Dr Lauren Ware is Lecturer in Practical Philosophy at the University of Kent, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. Her research focuses on the role of emotion in political and legal decision-making, the philosophy of pain and punishment, feminism, witchcraft, and ancient philosophy. She’s working on two books: an interdisciplinary collection on The Moral Psychology of Fear, and a new account of the Greek philosopher Plato’s theory of erotic love. Lauren has performed her research at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and the Bradford Literature Festival, analysed Game of Thrones and the philosophy of Kanye West for the BBC, and—her proudest contribution to human culture—appeared as a bloodthirsty tree demon in the 2014 micro-budget Scottish-historical-fantasy film, The Gaelic King.
