Meet MissGuided:
Miss Guided is your East London Guide, Host and Cultural Curator.
She was born and raised in far away lands, surrounded by chillies, culture and colourful things. From an early age, she was drawn to the quirkier side of life and has spent her adult years in London as an urban adventurer and flaneur. Always on jaunts to discover the East End's latest charms and distractions, Miss Guided can be found enjoying dive bars, curious coffee shops, hidden galleries, gypsy cabaret and talking to strangers. She is very interested in the art of walking and how we are influenced by and interact with the urban landscape. She loves to share all this with others and Miss Guide them. Through her natural curiosity and years of research work in the British film industry (inc Suffragette, Vera Drake, Children of Men, I Give it a Year, The Hour), she has gained an unusual and in depth knowledge of London's history and geography. This has propelled her to dig through dusty archives and libraries to find you the lesser known stories of East London and her dissenting East Enders. With a splendiferous energy and passion for the East End Miss Guided has pounded the pavements, chatted to scoundrels, ridden on buses and sat with lions to bring you this hand-picked day out in the East End that is London Wanders. She looks forward to meeting you.
“My husband and I were both born and grew up in Hackney, and almost everything was new information to us! Miss Guided is very welcoming and friendly, and clearly knows what she’s talking about.”
