Your cultural curator, host and guide.
Miss Guided has always been drawn to the quirkier side of life and has spent her adult years in London as an urban adventurer and flaneur. She was born and raised in far away lands, surrounded by chillies, culture and colourful things. This instilled in her from an early age an inquisitive mind and a passion for exploring. She is fascinated by the art of walking and how we are influenced by, and interact with, the urban landscape. Culture is her raison d’etre, so she is forever on jaunts to discover the East End's latest charms and distractions. She particularly loves dive bars, curious coffee shops, hidden galleries and gypsy cabaret, and loves to share all this with others.
Lucy (to her friends) has worked as a researcher in the British film industry (inc Suffragette, Vera Drake, Children of Men, I Give It a Year, The Hour) and through this has gained an unusual and in depth knowledge of London's history and geography. Lightning struck one day when she was galvanized to fuse her research skills with her passion for urban wandering, and become Miss Guided. So with a splendiferous energy she has rummaged in dusty archives and libraries, pounded the pavements, chatted to strangers, pondered psychogeography, examined gentrification, drawn maps, ridden on buses and sat with lions to bring you this hand-picked day out in the East End that is London Wanders. She looks forward to meeting you and Miss Guiding you.
