"We don't understand an issue until we've walked a mile in someone else's shoes" - Learn to understand and argue for an opposing view.
In debate we are often asked to argue for the "the other side". This can be an ominous task for many, especially when it comes to topics close to the heart. In this workshop you will learn to understand and appreciate the views of those you disagree with and how understanding the opposition is the best way to strengthen your own case.
Lead trainer, Tony Koutsoumbos, will walk you step by step through the process by which we can adopt the perspectives of the other side in order to genuinely make the case as if they were our own using character debates. in these both sides have to argue from the same perspective of a specific individual, group, or organisation. Regardless of what side you're on, you have to convincingly argue that you have a better understanding of the issue than a known pundit.
