One of the most fascinating woodwork machines to watch in action also one of the most pleasurable to learn and create great results in a surprisingly short time.
Wood lathes have been used for centuries to make chair legs, candlesticks, rolling pins, plates and bowls in a wide variety of woods.
Experienced wood turner Paul Nesbitt will bring his skills and machines for this workshop so that you can experience the joy of turning a small wooden bowl from a sawn blank into a polished vessel to take home.
This course is suitable for absolute beginners and would be a thrilling gift for any woodworker who has not had the chance to try their hand at turning.
Learners will work two to a lathe, which is a surprisingly satisfying way to learn. People who have taken Paul’s workshops have been thrilled with their results.
The wood will be selected prior to the course, and will be an English or American hardwood.
Special thanks go to The Camden Town Shed for their help in arranging the workshop.
